Praktikum als Kennel-Hilfe / Doghandler beim SWISS IDITAROD TEAM

Nebst dem seriösen Training ist die Pflege der Hunde ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Erfolgs. Zur Verstärkung unserer Crew suchen wir deshalb per sofort eine/n

PRAKTIKANT/IN KENNEL-HILFE DOGHANDLER

Unter die vielfältigen Aufgaben fallen zum Beispiel: Reinigen der Nachtzwinger und des Geheges, Füttern inkl. Zugabe der verschiedenen Nahrungsergänzungen. Verabreichen von Medikamenten, Mithilfe beim Training, Behandlung von kleineren Verletzungen inkl. Regenerations-Massage der Hunde, Sozialisierung der Junghunde und Beschäftigung der „Pensionäre“.

Wir suchen eine zuverlässige und engagierte Person m/w mit Freude an der Arbeit mit Hunden. Sie müssen gesundheitlich „robust“ sein, denn auch wenn Sie z.B. erkältet sind, brauchen die Hunde Futter und Pflege. Vorkenntnisse sind keine Bedingung. Dafür exaktes Arbeiten und die Bereitschaft, auch mal Hand anzulegen und z.B. bei Reparaturarbeiten am Gehege zu helfen.

Während unserer Abwesenheit durch Trainingslager oder Rennteilnahmen, versorgen Sie alleine die zu Hause gebliebenen Hunde (Pensionäre, verletzte sowie Junghunde) und pflegen Kennen und Liegenschaft. Sie geniessen dann unser 100%iges Vertrauen… und wir erwaten mindestens ebensoviel Einsatz und Engagement.

Ort:
5040 Schöftland, auf Wunsch kann ein eigenes Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt werden

Mindestdauer:
Oktober 2011 bis März 2012 (wenn möglich ab sofort)

Arbeitszeiten:
5 Tage/Woche, 2 x pro Monat auch Samstag oder Sonntag (mit Kompensation)

Ferien:
5 Wochen/Jahr – keine Ferien im Dezember, 1. Hälfte Januar, 1. Hälfte Februar und im März (Rennteilnahme)

Entlöhnung:
Dies ist eine Praktikums-/Hilfs-Stelle für eine Person, welche die Komplexität des Schlittenhundesport kennenlernen will resp. eine gute Basis für die Job- oder Lehrstellensuche im Bereich TPA oder Tierpfleger/In sucht. Die „Entlöhnung“ basiert auf einem der Leistung angepassten Taschengeld.

In addition to a serious training, the care-taking of the dogs is a main goal for success. For personal reinforcement of our crew we are looking effective immediately for:

Student Apprentice / Keeper / Doghandler

About the multifaceted duties you’ll find such as cleaning the night-boxes and the dog-yard, feeding incl. adding various nutrition-supplements, administer medicine, support by training, attendance by minor injuries, regeneration-massage and physiotherapy, socialization of the young dogs/puppy’s and happy activities for the “retired” dogs.

We are looking for reliable and dedicated person male/female who loves to “work” with dogs. You must be healthy robust then even if you have a cold the dogs needs to be feed and care taking. Previous knowledge are not necessary. But therefore asked are exact work and the willingness to help for ex. by fixing the fence, dog-houses and so one.

During our absence based on trainings-camp ore race-participation, you’ll be full responsible for the care-taking of the dogs left home (retired, young, ill dogs for ex.) and maintenance of kennel and property. Then you have our fully faith… and we expect at least the same amount of assignment.

Location:
Switzerland/Aargau/5040 Schöftland, if needed you’ll have you a room

Minimum-duration:
October 2011 to March 2012 (if possible immediately)

Work schedule:
5 days/week, 2 x per month on Saturday or Sunday (with compensation)

Holidays:
5 weeks/year – no holidays in December, first half January, first half February and in March (race-participations)

Salary:
This is a practical-/help job for a person, looking to learn more about the complexity of the sled-dog-sport and/or a good base seeking for an apprenticeship or job in division TPA or animal caretaker. The “salary” is related to a merit based pocket-money.

...and also the northernmost sled-dog race in the world

Nun ist auch die Registrierung für das Finnmarkslopet eröffnet. Ende Februar fahren wir dann (endlich) wieder nach Norwegen. Schon heute habe ich mir dazu gewisse Ziele gesteckt. Das Team wird aus den Yearlings bestehen und uns einiges für die Zukunft aufzeigen.

Nach zwei Jahren Abstinenz vom Finnmarkslopet freue ich mich riesig… auch wenn das jetzt wieder in Arbeit „ausartet“.

Now also the registration for the Finnmarkslopet has opened. In the end of February we’ll drive to Norway – finally. Already today I have set some goals. The team will be made by the yearlings and will show us some about the future.

After two years being “abstinence” of Finnmarkslopet, I’m thrilled about… even if it will turn into a pile of work now.

Rechtzeitig zur heissen Jahreszeit kann sich unser Team mit der kommenden Wintersaison beschäftigen !

…so war sie also… die dritte Odyssée in direkter Folge und wie jedes Jahr, wissen wir noch nicht, ob wir im nächsten wieder dabei sein wollen.

…nun… das ist auch nicht alleine meine Entscheidung… primär sind da auch noch die Hunde, die wieder bereit sein müssen, so viel Engagement und Loyalität für diesen Musher – der es ihnen sicher auch manchmal nicht einfach macht – zu investieren.

…so it was… the third participation in raw at the Odyssée and like every year, we don’t know jet, if we’ll do it again next year.

…well… it’s not only my decision… primary they are the dogs, they have to feel up to give such much engagement and loyalty to the musher – who made them not only easy sometimes.
